Privacy policy
This page contains the privacy policy of PewPew Live and PewPew Live 2 collectively
When you register for an account, your email address and username are stored.
This lets you reset your password and makes it possible to show your username on the leaderboards.
For each score uploaded, the following data is stored:
- a replay of the game, to let other players see how you achieved your score and to detect invalid scores.
- the accounts of the players that played in the game, to know who is responsible for the score.
- the date at which the score was uploaded, to be able to sort and filter scores by date.
- a two letter country code of the country deducted from the IP address that uploaded the score, to allow filtering scores based on the country.
- the version (for example "v0.1.88") and platform (for example "Android") of the game used to create the score, again to allow filtering scores based on the version and platform.
- the content of the comment, to be able to actually display the comment.
- the account of the player that posted the comment, to show who posted the comment and to know who is allowed to erase the comment.
- the date at which the comment was posted, to be able to show the date, and to sort the comments by date.
- How many times you played the level, to be able to show you how many times you played the level.
- How long you played the level, to be able to show you how long you played the level.
- The average score you've made, to be able to show you what is your average score.
- If you upload content or data, (for example custom levels, ratings, ...), the data and any information relevant to that data that could provide useful features may be uploaded, including the date at which the data was submitted, and the author of the data.
- Lists of accounts, for example a list of your friends, or a list of creators that you follow.
- Metadata derived from your actions, for example an average of your ranks across the levels, or some achievements you've achieved.
- The list of PewPew-related purchases, for example to allow you to enjoy your purchases across devices.
Third party sign-in
PewPew allows users to connect their accounts with third party services, such as Google and Discord. The purpose is to allow users to log in more easily, without needing to remember a separate password. The only data stored for every connected account is:- the unique ID of the connected account on the third party service,
- the username of the connected account on the third party service,
- the type of the connected account (e.g., Google, Discord),
- the date the account was linked.
Data retention
Uploaded levels are kept indefinitely to allow players to keep playing them.Scores and replays are kept indefinitely to allow the leaderboards to properly record high scores over time.
Scores and replays made obsolete by an era change will eventually be deleted to save space.
IP addresses logged for security and diagnostic purposes are retained for 24 hours.
The other account-related data is erased immediately on account deletion.
Prevention of Abuse and Ban Evasion
To maintain the security and integrity of our game, we retain certain identifiers (such as email addresses and/or IP addresses) of users who have been banned for violating our rules. This data is stored on a "suppression list" for a period of up to 1 year for the sole purpose of preventing ban evasion and unauthorized re-registration.This processing is based on our Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in protecting our platform from fraud, cheating, and repeated abuse. While you may request the erasure of your profile data, we may retain these specific identifiers to ensure the ban remains effective.
Deleting your data

The database containing the information of all players is hosted on a 3rd party cloud, which currently is Google. The verification emails and password reset emails are sent using 3rd party services, which currently are mailjet and sendgrid.
